Video: HEART's WILSON Sisters Joined By JASON BONHAM For 'Kennedy Center Honors' Performance
December 27, 2012Ann and Nancy Wilson of HEART played "Stairway To Heaven" as the finale of a star-studded musical tribute to LED ZEPPELIN during the Kennedy Center Honors, which were broadcast last night (Wednesday, December 26) on CBS after being taped earlier in the month. They were joined on stage by late LED ZEPPELIN drummer John Bonham's son Jason on drums, as well as a massive house band consisting of string and horn sections as well as a vocal choir.
During a December 3 appearance on CBS' "The Late Show With David Letterman", LED ZEPPELIN guitarist Jimmy Page stated about the Wilson sisters' performance: "They did a version of 'Stairway' that had a choir and an orchestra. Ann and Nancy Wilson started it up and it was building and building. Then a scrim goes up and it started really rocking. It was great."
Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones, along with Letterman, were awarded the Kennedy Center Honor on December 1 in Washington, D.C.
The bandmembers were promoting their new live collection, "Celebration Day", which features ZEPPELIN's entire 2007 London reunion concert.
